These days there is a war going on in between the different formats of HD DVDs. Warner Brothers have swayed the war with a new kind of disk that they are calling the Total HD Disk. They have also stated that they will be introducing the technology in CES-2007.
This new invention will be able to play films and TV shows in both Blu-Ray and HD-DVD players.
The Blu-Ray technology has been developed by Sony and others and its rival HD-DVD is being backed up by Toshiba and Microsoft. Both these machines are incompatible with each other and this has leaded many potential customers bewildered as to which technology they should go for. In this war Warner Brothers has introduced the new disk which makes both the players compatible.
According to Warner Brothers they intended to satisfy the customer first and then the retailer. This new disk will affect the sales of both the players and this should also subside the bewilderment of the consumers.
LG also has some similar plans and the company is planning a player that has drives for both the rival formats. They have commented that the technology is under development and such players will obviously cost more than any other player.
