The new technology that was to be developed for the US army if put into commercial use can change the way the world transports its goods. The Aeroscraft will do to the transportation industry what internet did for the information exchange.
Aeros was to develop an Airship for the military but the plans were shelved due to lack of budget. But now Aeros is planning to develop the same technology for the commercial use.
The Walrus a demonstration blimp to be developed by Aeros has the capability to transport 500 military units in their full gear now think of it in terms of cargo that can be loaded and transported across in it.
It is a perfect peace time solution for the cargo industry and many cargo transportation limits will have to be rethought in the Walrus scenario. This Aeroscraft will not require any airstrip to land and will be able to land on both water and any open ground.
In relation to earlier generation airships Walrus uses combination of aerodynamics, thrust vectoring and gas buoyancy generation and management to generate lift.

The President of Aeros Aeronautical Systems Corp Igor Pasternak, said “Along with the innovative structure design and low speed maneuverability system, we have positioned ourselves to begin production of a full scale technology demonstrator vehicle that will have the capability of vertical takeoff and landing, absolutely autonomous, and incorporate the innovative lift and buoyancy concepts that do not rely on off-board ballast.”
The company further added that they are aware of the limitations of the airship and have developed technologies to over come them.
