Japan’s robot maker Vstone in collaboration with the ATR labs has developed the Robovie-PC, a humanoid hobby robot that has a 1.6GHz Intel Atom Z530 processor built in and features about 20 degrees of mechanical maneuverability, courtesy 3 axis accelerometer and a couple of 2 axis gyro sensors.
The 15-inch humanoid-robot-PC, besides being compatible with both Windows and Linux, also stuffs in Wi-Fi, a 1.3MP CMOS camera, a VGA output and 2 USB ports. Exuberantly priced at about $4,500, the Robovie-PC is a real novelty in robotics.
