This is not the first time that the extremely talented Harrison Krix (aka Volpin), has created a replica weapon. This time, he did the same for BioWare and designed a replica of N7 Assault Rifle from Mass Effect 3. The replica made its debut at this yearâs San Diego Comic Co. This is the latest installment from the Mass Effect franchise and is a special downloadable item included with the collectorâs edition version of the game. Its style takes cues from the already announced SMG, pistol, sniper rifle and shotgun. If you like to stock your walls with Lord of the Rings style elvish daggers then you will definitely love the mockup.

Krix created the model within two weeks. He started by drawing the sketches of the shapes needed to build the model on an MDF sheet. These shapes were the main body of the rifle. He added details to these shapes using styrene, acrylic tubes and various other materials and tools. Then he clamped and glued the various parts. To add dimensions to the sides, he employed a dremel tool to carve out the top layer of MDF. After that, he dropped a piece of styrene to make the surface smooth. He filled the edges of the MDF with apoxie sculp to give it a clean look.
PVC pipes make the barrel of the gun. Back part of the barrel consists of bent 040â styrene sheets. The rear part of the magazine is ½â sintra shaped with a dremel. Acrylic rod, PVC, styrene, and sintra make the upper part.
The idea of the designer was to create and paint the different parts separately, and assemble them to make the finished rifle. Once the pieces were finished, he applied black coat of paint overall and silver paint on the main body. Then, Krix aged the rifle to give it a used look by adding decals.
As always, Krix created a masterpiece that any Mass Effect fan would be proud to own. However, the problem is that it is a one-of-a-kind hand crafted piece. Therefore, we all can not have one but can see the impressive feat to give a feast to eyes.
