Rarely a thing is primed with a bizarre idea foreseeing real intention. Such however is a vibration chair developed by engineers at Ryerson University, Toronto. It is a chair that intends to transform music into tangible sensation for the hearing impaired.
Embedded with vibrating coils, the chair translates different kinds of music into physical movements of varying intensities – from rocking motions to blasts of air, imparting a sensation to the skin to allow the deaf sense and feel in them the passion for music. Check out the video of the system’s live demonstration after the cut.
