Apple's much awaited iPhone 5, the 'next in line' of the Apple phones lineage, claims to house a dual-mode service by using verizon's CDMA network and the GSM network both. It has in a considerable way managed to overshadow iPhone 4, as the predecessor carried only the CDMA service. It will use Qualcomm chips, much similar to the ones used in iPhone 4 and iPad 2; both having support for GSM service but remaining dormant due to lack of drivers and testing.

Verizon has disclosed a lot regarding the hardware details of the product and states that it is possibly going to carry a dual code A5 processor, an 8 mega-pixel camera, IOS 5, NFC wireless transactions and about 64 GB of storage capacity.
With this development, Verizon expects to sweep in the attention of a major part of the global consumer crowd by planning a shipping of around 11 million phone sets with dual service by September. One would cry out a major 'look out' to the iPhone loyalists, as it seems this new addition to the family is willing to take up double responsibility.
