Verbatim plans to add a third layer to HD DVD to incorporate 51 GB storage

Verbatim is already shipping a HD DVD with dual layer that can store up to 30GB of data. Now the Company has plans to further enhance the storage capacity to 51GB by adding a third layer that may add on another 17Gb space on the disc.

The technical feasibility of the project is not yet confirmed. This technology will shape the future of HD DVD storage and meet up the ever increasing greed for more storage space.
