mountain dew engine
Stumbling upon this for once I was amazed to read it, but the second thought reminded me of my crazy friend who would dilute his motorbike’s fuel tank with Coke saying, “One day I will drive my bike with Coke” – and the further he reached in his misadventure was, selling off the bike for a cheap price. But inventor Paul Patone has got a similar adventure working somewhat right for him.

Patone 25 years back created the GEET (Global Environmental Energy Technology) Fuel Processor - an engine capable of running on 80% water or any soft drink. Mountain Dew is what he himself tried though. The system is made to run on 20-25 percent of regular gas from diesel engines to jet turbines, while the rest of the addition can be completed by filling it with Mountain Dew. Video after the jump.

The sad tale:

Paul Patone was a victim of heinous abuse by corrupt Utah officials and businessmen. Having refused to sell his patents and technology, the Utah officials framed a case for securities fraud against him, as a result of which he was put in a mental ward at the Utah State Hospital in March of 2006. Patone was freed only in May this year.
