This app for the iPad, over Wi-Fi, lets you use the iPad as a secondary display with the MacBook or iMac. This app available for $5 is compatible only with OSX, but the heartening fact is that it will be functional with the iPhone and iPod too, so in case you need a big and extra display for your iPhone and the iPod, you know what to buy.
