This has been evident in every field of technology, once the development part with the functional/involved technology is over, the manufactures start focussing on the design ergonomics. Developed on same lines is the USBee, a USB as the name suggests, designed by a young and definitely talented Serbian designer, Damjan Stankovic. This USB design fetched him the first prize on the MS Industrial USB Competition held on Serbian Design Community forum DizajnZona. The organisers wanted the designers to design a USB that won’t break even when it got a physical shock whilst it was connected to the computer.
USBee is more about a USB case than a USB, just what I mentioned when I began this article. The concentration was on designing a device casing than a differently functional doodad; a casing which would give it a unique shape for recognition to add to the safety factor of course.
