Epson is out with its latest line of high-end Stylus Pro ‘Print Engines’ also known as the inkjet printers, to take you all out of the excessive work on the mundane scanners and printers. The hottest range is outfitted with variety of appealing features and will be available in 4 models, the 4880, 7880, 9880 and 11880.
The lesser models, 4880, 7880, and 9880 all come backed with an 8-channel print head that discharges a ‘variable-sized droplet’ as small as 3.5 picoliters, for the best quality image. The Epson Stylus Pro 4880 weighs 89lbs and has a maximum 2880×1440 dpi and boasts of 8×10s between 50 seconds to 6:25, while the 7880 and 9880 weigh 131lbs and 198lbs respectively with 2880×1400dpi max and 16×20s between 1:18 to 12:57.
The bigger and greater one, gulps down nearly a bottle of wine (embedded with an ink cartridge that holds up to 700ml) worth of ink, the 11880 justifies the notion ‘bigger the better’ - being capable of supporting 64-inch-wide paper that equips it to print out banners, it weighs 250lbs with 2880×1440dpi max and 16×20s between 1:18 to 12:57.
There is no word on the availability and price yet, but if Epson’s combination of easy scanning features and quality of the images produced are backed, the unveiled range could be a revelation.
