ATI and NVIDIA still don’t seem to regulate any norms and measures to considerably decrease the quantity of energy consumed by their latest products, which are on the verge of a release and also which are already on the market shelves. And here they boast about their supercomputer now. Now this is something to feel proud of, or we may call it the Green Revolution initiated by the University of Edinburgh developers.
We caught up some attention of the spokesperson from the company regarding this supercomputer and they commented this - ‘this thing over here is ten times more energy efficient and up to 300 times faster than its traditional equivalents. Based on field programmable gate arrays (FPGA), the chips are not only very difficult to program, but they can currently only be used to perform very specific tasks.’ They are surely considering the wide range of possibilities for the future expansions and contemplation for making this product more and more cost effective and energy efficient, wow, keep up the good work.
