Scuba diving sounds quite adventurous and dangerous at the same time. The scuba divers who bring us closer to solving the mysteries of the vast oceans endanger their lives in the process. Keeping the communication lines intact under the water has always been a tough challenge, but now with this new device known as Underwater Digital Device (UDI) from the Underwater Technology Center (UTC), communication through text messaging will be a simpler job.
The device has approximately 14 preset messages that are ready to be sent with the single press of button. Using the 2-way text messaging, UDI can communicate up to the distance of 500 meters. It allows him to keep contact with the boat as well as the follow divers. It helps to send warning messages or to get to the boat safely.
The SOS feature allows sending quick messages to the boat and fellow divers explaining your status. It will prove a lifesaver in case you are in danger and need help. The SOS beacon works from a distance of 1000 meters! Its 8-hour long battery life ensures you don’t worry about its battery being exhausted.
It is priced at $1,500. Far less a price to pay, when you face underwater risks!
