Unbound your spirit with Sony's 'LocationFree TV'
Sony will soon realize your dream of viewing your favorite local programs even while you are thousands of miles away from your home.
A small black box that's designed to do the aforesaid job for you demands your airplane to be Wi-Fi enabled and your hotel having a broadband connection. The simple device hooks 'into your home TV antenna, converts the signal to the MPEG-4 digital standard, encrypts it for security and streams it over the Internet to your PC.'
The device will be made compatible with your portable gadgets too in the future such as Sony's PlayStation Portable (PSP) and mobile phones. Sony promises to invade each and every device with this new "LocationFree TV" technology. Sony's new LocationFree Base Station will be retailed for about 32,000 yen ($272.70) in Japan.
