The market for mobile internet devices is growing fast, and the latest entrant to the MID dome is the UMID. The Korean firm showcased their mobile internet device during GMV 2008, which comes with a 4.8-inch touchscreen featuring 1024 x 600 resolutions. The UMID MID is power driven by an Intel Atom 1.1Ghz/1.33GHz processor and supports DDR2 533MHz 512BMB/1GB memory, up to 32GB SSD and MS Windows XP/Vista/Linux OS. Other salient specs include a 1.3-megapixel camera, mini USB 2.0 slot, SD/USIM card slot, WiBro, HSDPA, WiMAX, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. The UMID MID is expected to hit the shelves in 2009 in the Korean market.
