Fuel cells are gushing entrants in consumer electronics, and Sony being a prevailing name in the market has made an attempt to attract the due attention, by introducing a mini fuel cell prototype that’s only about 50 × 30mm, small enough to fit in one hand comfortably.

The manufacturer claims the system which consists of a fuel cell and a Li-polymer secondary battery, uses methanol as fuel (that can play 14 hours of movie on a cellphone with 10mL of methanol) and is ideal to deal with the ever mounting power needs of the mobile devices, with its output capability as high as 3W.
