Good news for iTrip fans, the United Kingdom is reconsidering the ban on Griffin’s notorious low power FM transmitter. The permission for the use iTrip was denied under the Wireless Telegraphy Act from 1949 that prohibits the installation or use of radio equipment in the UK without license.
Ofcom is looking forward to create a common set of standards for the use of iTrip and other low-power devices. If acceptable to the authorities, you can grab your iTrip soon, but do not be overenthusiastic about the matter as this is just a small step towards lifting the embargo in full.
