We were dazed by the project Nano Ganesh, which has empowered Indian farmers to remotely monitor irrigation pumps from their mobile phones. And now a similar surprise is meted our way by two students of Polytechnic College in Moga city of Punjab, India. The students have invented what is the first tractor to be controlled by a mobile phone from just anywhere. Embedded with a camera sensor, the tractor can identify any obstruction from about 10 feet, which automatically gets the tractor to a halt avoiding any complication. Creating a new phenomenon for farmers, the duo, with their invention have opened a new horizon for farmers in India, who would now be able to take control of their tractor without sitting on it, via a cellphone from the comfort of their homes alone. Read on for a video demonstration.
