twitter radio

Mark McKeague, a student at Queen’s University, did a bit of tinkering with Twitter and a radio, and used an Arduino microcontroller to pick up movement on the tuning dial of the radio. This hack made it possible for him to route his Twitter page through the radio and people can tune into his messages. With Twitter going to the radio waves, those with visual disabilities can literally tune into the social networking site by using McKeague’s radio.

McKeague himself is not very enthusiastic about commercializing the idea. He says the “Twitter radio” will stay as a prototype for sometime, but he will continue to improve the design and develop his innovation further.
