Transmedics revives living organ transplantation

Till now cold ischemic storage was the key in living organ transplantation. But it failed drastically in preserving the organs from possible damage with the passage of time. The new system, TransMedics Organ Care System, developed by TransMedics uses 'warm blood perfusion technology' and can possibly put the lose nails tight preserving organs by pumping warm, oxygenated, nutrient-rich blood through them from the time of removal until implantation.

It makes the organ less susceptible to damage during transportation completely eliminating dangers of its failure.
