Scientists at the Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh are developing a new kind of a translator 'The Tower of Babel', which will be able to translate your language into another without having you to speak out a word...
In this device Electrodes are attached to the neck and the face of the speaker and the person has to just mouth the word slowly and silently.
Using the data collected from the electrodes the system generates the set of words that were being said using voice recognition software. These words are then translated into some other language and the hearer feels like he is watching a dubbed film...
Currently two prototypes of the device have been developed, one that translates Chinese into English and the other that translates English into Spanish or German.
The technology is not as advanced as it should be but Researchers feel that they will make the technology fully developed in the coming years.
