When I mentioned all by your self in the head, I did not intend a pun at all. It is now a possibility to transfer data into a device by merely touching it; all courtesy of a Firmo card which when pocketed would convert a human being into a medium that assists in transferring data. Firmo is a card sized transmitter which an individual can carry in his pocket and on doing so the card in the pocket converts the stored data into a weak AC field which extends across the body. The current then can be passed onto a compatible device thus transferring the data by merely touching it.
At present Firmo succeeds in making the transfer happen at 230kbps but its innovator, NTT is targeting at a low cost 10mbps version which would be good enough for transferring audio and video files. Don’t just rub all this off as a concept as the sales of the 230kbps version have already begun, clearly indicating that the higher speed version would also become available pretty soon.
