TouchDevice from Input Dynamics transforms your ordinary phone into touch sensitive

Posted By: Priyanka Ohri | Sep 9 2010

Input Dynamics has come up with TouchDevice, a software that is no less than magic, turning almost any ordinary phone into a touch wonder. I say almost because your phone can be as old as ancient, but it needs to have a built-in microphone. It means, it is not necessary for you to have an apple in your hand to tap on its screen. To use this software, you require no extra hardware. As, I said, a built-in microphone is good enough. The built-in microphone picks up on the acoustic signature produced by specific finger gestures, which means it picks up on simple sounds that your finger produces while you tapping or swiping.

It lets you touch and swipe the screen of an ordinary phone, if you have TouchDevice. While you perform the required action, the software instantly transforms the gestures into commands, corresponding with the OS of the phone. It sounds nice as hell, as I really don't understand the Apples or the pineapples. However, at present this software is still a concept. But, believing the news mongers, Input Dynamics is in talks with some big-name phone manufacturers, so that it can be adopted for the phones of the future.
