Conscious gadgets for the special always find a place here, it’s reiterated, but the fact’s mentioned for convenience. When Bluetooth headsets are all going hi-tech in every pursuit, Darrell Huff has designed a touch-free voice command Bluetooth headset for his quadriplegic son, Joshua, facilitating him in making and receiving calls. Based on the BlueAnt V1 headset, Huff has modified his BlueAnt V1 headset to function without the push of a button.
After all kinds of hits and trials, Huff replaced the push button switch of the BlueAnt V1 with a magnetically controlled switch. The switch of the modified headset isn’t magnetized, it just responds to a magnetic field, which is created by a magnet mounted to a 29-inch flexible rod attached to a wheelchair. So, by just tilting the head toward the magnetic field and using the voice commands, Joshua can use the headset for all his phone needs. If interested, you can check out all the details regarding the headset here.
