Toshiba does a miniature HDTV camera with it’s HD1. The HD1 is one very small HDTV camera which measures just 1.6 inches square, not too bigger than a cube of sugar. And even at that dimensions, Toshiba have managed to squeeze in 3 CCD chips into it. The HD1 is all set to be showcased by Toshiba at the National Association of Broadcasters meet in Las Vegas later this month. Miniaturizing a camera to these dimensions will have the celebrity spy paparazzi jumping as they will now get a chance to be ultra intrusive, albeit with the celebrities not even knowing that they are being filmed. Apart from that wicked application, the HD1 can also be used in a range of places from airports to hospitals to even in battlefield robots. While this HDTV camera is mainly intended to be used in shop floors that stock extremely expensive merchandise and other commercial spaces, this technology will certainly make it to the consumer market after some time.
