hd xe1

The giants in the home entertainment arena seem to be fighting the battle for HD supremacy. Now, Toshiba has announced to roll out its first HD-DVD player in Europe on November 15.

The two HD-DVD players include the HD-E1 that will hit the stores in the midst of November for a price of around £400 (€599) while the high-end HD-XE1 will make a move into the market in the beginning of December for a price of around £605 (€899).

Both the players offer full HD functionality and support for the standard DVDs. While the HD-XE1 is configured with HDMI 1.3, 1080p output and 5.1 analog outputs, the HD-E1 will come packed with HDMI 1.2, 1080i output and support for Digital Dolby Plus.

Who is going to win this stiff virtual war between the big leaders? Anyway, both the players are eye-catching and feature-packed enough to lure the customers at such prices.
