After recent news from the Blu-Ray camp that Blu-Ray players will completely wipe out HD DVD from the markets in three years, Toshiba continues to push its HD DVD players.
The company has stated that they will slash the prices of its entire HD DVD player range on April 1.
The prices will be reduced by at least $100.
As of next month, Toshiba HD-A2 will be available for $399, HD-A20 for $499 and the top-of-the-line will be priced at $799.
Last month Sony also announced its more affordable entry into Blu-Ray movies. Its new players coming this summer will be priced as; Sony BDP-S300 at $599. But still the cheapest way to find a Blu-Ray player remains the 20GB PS3 at just $499.
This reduction in the cost of HD DVD players will further escalate the race between HD DVD and Blu-Ray and only time will tell who emerges as the winner.
