Toshiba will be selling its HD DVD players for just $99 and that too with three HD DVD movie titles. This is not such good news as it may seem because the offer is available only for customers who will be attending the Home Media Expo.
The entry tickets for the expo will make things look weird because they range between $100 and $500. With the prices of the tickets I think it will be better to buy the players at a Toshiba store...!
The moral of the story is that there’s always a catch. Especially when these multinationals try to offload some of their soon-to-be obsolete gadgets. Things can be made more exciting if some guys can chip in and buy a ticket to get one of their friends in. Mass buyout and the promotion strategy would work out for all the concerned parties.
