Toshiba surfaces its 10.1-inch Android tablet PC on Amazon

Toshiba showcases its much-frenzied Android-powered tablet PC, dubbed as Toshiba 10.1-inch Android, on Amazon. The new Toshiba tablet appears to have better capability to compete with Apple iPad 2, Motorola Xoom and the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. Toshiba earlier displayed prototype of its Android tablet touting that it would be superior to Apple iPad 2. The device shown on Amazon looks exactly like the prototype. Indeed, features and tech specs of the Toshiba 10.1-inch tablet clearly reveal that it can certainly engage in a tough battle over the existing tablets in the market including domineering Apple iPad 2. The device may affect sales of other tablets in the market thanks to its wide-ranging features, analysts suggest.

The new Toshiba tablet, above all, sports a 10.1-inch display, the same size both Xoom and Galaxy Tab 10.1 are known for. Further, the device has a resolution of 1280 × 800 pixels, a Tegra 2 dual-core processor, HDMI out, USB in and out ports and an SD memory card slot as key highlights. Toshiba tablet will have a 5-MP rear camera with autofocus and 2-MP front-facing camera for video chatting. Most of these features will put the device highly competitive in the tablet market this year. However, Amazon hasn't yet revealed when Toshiba 10.1-inch Android Tablet will appear in the stores for sales. Most likely it may hit the stores in Q2 this year.
