Offering hard disk drives with a magnificent combination of mammoth capacity, mobility and low-power consumption, Toshiba has introduced the large capability hard drives delivering 640 gigabytes of storage capacity. The new MKxx65GSX 5,400 RPM 2.5-inch HDD line is a welcome entrant in the ever increasing demands for storage. Also given the low-power consumption trait, the HDDs could be great solution for all kinds of computing applications from notebooks to all-in-one desktop and EnergyStar PCs, requiring high-capacity storage with minimum power utilization. With the flagship 640GB hard drive capable of storing around up to 182,000 digital photos, 168,000 music files or 520 downloaded digital movies in HD, the MKxx65GSX series also includes 640GB, 500GB, 320GB, 250GB and 160GB models. The hard drives are scheduled to ship in the fourth quarter of 2009.
