dynabook ss rx1

Flash memory is getting hotter by the day and we are seeing flash memory in notebook PCs slowly but very steadily. Now, Apple’s Macbook Air is coming under some serious attack from the Japanese with Toshiba announcing an upgraded Dynabook. In the fast becoming anorexic laptop world, with Dynabook SS RX1 competing in the thin stakes with the Macbook air with the Dynabook at just 19.5mm, missing the AIR’s 19.3mm by just a couple of millimetres. But, it more than makes it up in the weight stakes with its ultra light 848 grams, almost half that of the AIR’s 1560 grams. The ultra portable segment has now seen the lightest of them all in the 12.1 inch SS RX1. Now, what does this very light, stylish ultra portable have under the board? Processing is taken care of by a very energy efficient 1.06GHz intel core2duo processor and the Dynabook SS RX1 ups the ante with a humongous, 128 gigabytes of flash memory space and an ultra thin 7mm DVD drive, which makes it the biggest memory wise and the lightest ultraportable ever.

You can have your cake and eat it too. And just as you are reading this, Toshiba has just put in a WIN 1X CDMA card module in the SS RX1 making it the ultra portable to beat, by setting an all new benchmark. But, here you can’t have your cake and eat it too, you have to choose between the 128GB flash memory or the CDMA module.

Tough choice indeed, but i would go for the 128GB flasher though. And now, how about a stunning twelve and a half hour battery life, a very strong magnesium casing, spill proof keyboard that can take coffee and soda as well and a shock resistance of upto 4 feet. This is one hell of a hyper performer and to take it home, you have to part with around two and a half thousand euros. A small price for superb style and cutting edge high performance.
