Toshiba chose an unusual Wednesday night to launch their first ever waterproof and weather-resistant pocket camcorder, named the Toshiba Camileo BW10. The Toshiba Camileo BW10 camcorder is marketed as a camcorder designed for sports, action and underwater use and is also designed to withstand water, snow, rain or dust. Apart from families simply looking for an affordable and robust camcorder, the Camileo BW10 is majorly targeted toward adventurous holiday makers and water sports enthusiasts.

The new Camileo BW10 can take photos or even shoot in up to 6.5 feet or 2 meters of water and is said to be rugged above ground as well. The Camileo BW10 is competent of recording footage up to full HD 1920 x 1080 @ 30fps and also incorporates its own video stabilization feature. The Camileo BW10 is furnished with a 5.1cm LCD screen, and integrated HDMI connectivity allowing recording and images to be played back on HD-ready TVs. The Camileo BW10 can shoot videos on the MP4 format in 1080p high definition (HD) footage in the most challenging of conditions and is also equipped with a 10 x digital zoom which can be used while taking still images or recording video. The Camileo BW10 also has a 5MP CMOS image sensor for still images up to 5 megapixels, with ISO 1600 sensitivity.
