Toshiba has once again proved that size is everything with their new drive.
The drive measures just 1.8-inch and boasts of an awesome 100GB capacity. Toshiba also claims that this new drive will have the highest storage capacity when compared to other drives which are as compact as this one.
The secret behind the drive is that it uses PMR that means Perpendicular Magnetic Recording. Toshiba aims that the drive will prove useful for light weight and slim Notebook Computers.
Notebook PCs have always compromised storage in an effort to make the systems slim and light weight so that they are easy to carry. However now we can expect a 100GB Notebook and then also maintaining the same size and thickness as a conventional 40GB counterpart.
Toshiba believes that it will be able to release the product in the month of January next year.
