Toppan’s Smartics-cFe is the worlds smallest IC Card or is it!

You never know with these technological claims for they are just as true as celebrity marriages but we still would give Toppan a chance with it claiming the Smartics-cFe as the world’s smallest Felica IC card until there is someone falsifying the claim. I guess Sony would be the first to challenge it for they are the ones who started with all of it in Hong Kong or you never know a small chip may already be in the works. The two ready models measure 26.6 mm and 22.6 mm in diameter and 0.8mm in thickness as they draw inspiration from the shape of a coin. They have already been tested by embedding them in mobile phone straps and key holders and have come of well, as a consequence of which the samples will be shipped from tomorrow onwards.

Over a longer period of time these cards would be used in entrance certificates, membership cards for amusement parks, electronic tickets etc. Each of these cards would cost $29.3 as Toppan plans to sell 100,000 of these for this fiscal year. The sales goal is obviously very high indicating that the company is confident about its product as its potency irrespective the size and we wish them all the best with their targets provided the staked claim is genuine!
