Technology is increasing by leaps and bounds everyday and many humans have already changed their attitude towards life using some great technology advancements of the millennium.
Here is a list of the top 12 Tech Breakthroughs that you can watch in 2007:
1) Bendable Concrete:

Bendable Concrete is the nick name for the most advanced cement technology called Engineered Cementitious Composites (ECC). ECC is a cement that can change its shape when some kind of a pressure is applied on its surface. This prevents the structure from cracking or breaking even under extreme pressure. The technology involves coating microscopic polymer fibers that can slide past each other without instead of snapping under stress.
2) PRAM

PRAM or Phase-Change Random Access Memory can completely eradicate the use of Flash Memories. Commonly we use Flash Memory as it does not have any moving parts that can break during operation and are quite fast. But the latest technology is using the chemicals that is presently used in rewritable disks to store data. The chemical is alternatively heated and cooled to store information. The resultant memory is 30 times faster than our fast flash memory and also offers 10 times the life span.
3) Printed Solar Panels:

Solar Energy is not used more often reason being that the infrastructure for producing the panels is expensive and the panels themselves are too bulky and big to be used in many applications. But tomorrow’s Solar Panels provide a brighter picture. A California based company, Nanosolar is building a plant that will use a nanostructured ink to form semiconductors which would be printed on flexible sheets. The aim of the company is a produce 430 Megawatts worth of Solar Cells annually.
4) Passport Hacking:

The U.S. Passports will now be having a RFID chip which will carry the digital photo of the owner and some other basic details of the owner also in digital format. The goal of the technology is to prevent the counterfeiting of passports. But is it 100% safe...? The answer is no as a German security researcher has been able to publicly clone an e-passport at a Las Vegas conference last summer. Taking a note from this the State Department is including enhanced encryption. I think that the hackers would have already started flexing their muscles.
5) Vehicle Infrastructure Integration:
Today you might be having a GPS device and radar blind-spot monitoring in your car. But still that does not help in traffic. The Department of Transportation’s Vehicle Infrastructure Integration program waits for a final testing in 2007. The program involves installing a 5.9 GHZ short-range wireless link in your car so that it can talk to other cars in the route. All the information is then pooled to your car so that you can know the upcoming traffic. The information pooled will then tell you the speed, location and everything about the cars that are near to you. This will keep the drivers away from the trouble spots.
6) Body Area Network:
The BAN or the Body Area Network technology uses your body as a communication medium. The cell phone in your pocket will send a very small current along your body and that will be enough to open the doors of your car when you touch it or log in to your computer if you grab the mouse.
7) Plasma Arc Gasification:

A plant is being developed at Florida that will convert huge amount of garbage in the cities to useful steam for nearby factories, sludge for the roads and electricity. All that will very low emissions. The plant will use a plasma arc jet that will heat the garbage to 10,000 F and convert it into useful products.
8) VoN:
Video On Net will allow you to attend an important meeting and take some important conference decisions without leaving the cozy comfort of your home. Products like Apple’s iTV are all set to launch which will make life easy for everyone.
9) Smart Pills

Pills with cameras that you can swallow will tell you each and every detail of your body. Smart Pill can transmit data about pressure, acidity and temperature to a small 5 x 4-inch receiver that the patient can carry around.
10) Data Cloud:
Whenever you have to move to some place you need to carry some of your important data along and for the purpose you use flash disks, rewritable disks. The better option will be to access all of your data in minutes and that too from any corner of the globe using an Internet Connection. With giants like Google launching products such as GDrive with an unlimited storage on its servers forms a Data Cloud that will follow you where ever you go.
11) Printing and Displays:

With companies like Xerox developing a paper that erases itself in 24 hours making it printable again, printing will not be the same. Moreover many companies are venturing into developing flexible Displays that can be rolled and carried anywhere we want.
12) Mobiles:
In the future mobiles will not only be used to make and receive calls. They will come integrated with some great features which will increase their application areas. Such technologies will include integration of GPS systems, multiple connectivity methods, Wi-Fi, Music players and direct connectivity with any computer on the planet so that you can upload your images on Flickr and your videos on YouTube.
