Are you ready to start your day with a different feeling? What about going for the next generation for toothbrushes? The new metal that has won whims of toothbrush makers recently is Titanium, a metal that has been in use in a varied list of things.
So, how would this metal bring the revolution in the toothbrush market? There are two kinds of toothbrush that use titanium bristles. One claims to remove plaque and dispense toothpaste using the electrochemical reaction and the other claims to have long lasting bristles.
The first one, made and marketed by Powers International, is photo-catalytic, meaning requires light to get activated and works well when exposed to bright light. Oxidation that is responsible for removing plaque is generated by negatively charged electrons (generated with exposure to bright light) that react with the positive ions from the dental plaque itself.
The second type called TiFinity Toothbrush has finer bristles that reach the deepest corner of the mouth and promises a super clean mouth. The normal nylon bristles tend to loose their shape and effectiveness with use, but the titanium bristles remain strong even after several years.
Though there seems to be a huge price difference that might makes buyers think twice before going for these brushes. Even these brushes sound a lot awkward for our daily use as we are long used to the cheaper; almost forty times, and far more easily available.
