The iPhone isn’t the most affordable thingamajig in many parts of the world and, to posses it, you sure need a sound income or else you need to be a student from the Aoyama Gakuin University. Don’t be surprised, it is just a way to lure students who otherwise prefer to avoid classrooms for even the smallest excuses. This iPhone would come with an embedded application that would help the teachers keep track of student attendance without the need of a signing register.
The students would be required to feed an identification code for the class and their own ID in the iPhone on entering the classroom. The same iPhone application uses GPS location data to ensure that the data furnished is from the classroom router and not elsewhere.
Apparently, this technology is being used on experimental basis involving 550 students who would be an active part of the process. I can guarantee you that there would be no bunking until the students get annoyed with their iPhone, which could take a couple of months -so, don’t just be impressed by the initial renderings of the research.
