With technological expertise, Cambridge Consultants, a firm leading in technology and product design, has launched a new through-wall radar device that can identify from outside a wall the activities that happen inside the room. This is the latest evolution of their Prism through-wall radar product line – the Prism 200c. It is light in weight and a “not so easily noticeable” device that can be packed well inside a backpack. Counter terrorism forces and the Police Special Operations teams that currently deploy Prism technology are best benefited with this invention.

In order to record or note movements inside a room or building, the user with Prism 200c in the backpack just needs to lean against the wall; at the same time, maintain a cover by using it via a laptop or any similar personal device.
Steve Williamson, Prism product manager of Cambridge Consultants, stated that the Prism 200c was a grand success in the field of product evolution and development. The company being sensitive to meeting needs of their partners across the globe and vertical markets, they redesigned the product through customer and operator-feedback major modifications being a longer battery life (8 hours) and lightweight.
Installation of this product has been globally successful with homeland security, defence and Special Forces, police, SWAT teams and military officers. It supports hostage crisis management and law enforcement scrutiny. Prism 200c has an International Protection Rating of IP68 and is dust-proof and waterproof. With its new battery cover design, the battery can be changed easily.
Three major advantages that make this Prism product highly practical for security personnel are its portability and long battery life, a smart radar signal processing that recognizes human movements in any environment and a meaningful data presentation with front, side, overhead and 3D views both on the device and to the user who may be remotely located.
Cambridge Consultants unveiled this product at the international conference Global Security Asia 2011 (GSA) held in Singapore between March 15-17 this year. It showcased the device through technology demonstrations and informational sessions on homeland security. Currently, these devices are available in North America, Europe and Asia.
