Thomson RCA Lyra X3000 Portal Multimedia Recorder
Thomson will demonstrate its personal multimedia player and recorder Lyra X3000 with DirecTV2Go functionality at the CES. It enables high-speed video transfer directly from DirecTV digital video recorders. The 8 ounce PMP show off a 3.6' 320 x 240 TFT ultra-bright color LCD screen with a 20GB HDD to store about 40 feature-length films, 4 hours battery life and a home theatre docking base.

The 0.75' thick virtual VCR utilizes MPEG4 technology for real-time and time-shift recording from any analog video source and high-speed digital content transfer at 10x speed from a DirecTV. The SD memory card slot permits photo playback. It records the settings when shut off and resumes them whenever turned on, hence no hassles of tuning things again and again. The Universal 3-Device IR Remote Control allows you to operate the X3000 and other devices from a distance.
The $399 LYRA X3000 by RCA will hit the market in January.
