What makes robotics so interesting is the fact that certain robots can be supremely intelligent, while the rest are mechanical and more utilitarian than our ‘lifeless’, manually-controlled machines. While certain robots can be pre-programmed for a particular task and left to operate on their own, some require little or no human assistance and possess the ability to learn. The Wave Cleaning Robot belongs to the first category, which makes it a ‘product to own’ and not really a ‘product to covet’. Yet, for the purpose it has been designed, this machine can be highly useful in automating a strenuous swimming pool activity viz. cleaning. Maintenance of public swimming pools up to 60 meters in length can be a real pain. A viable robotic alternative can save a significant amount of time and resources, thus making the whole process of maintaining the poolside a whole lot simpler.

From a physical perspective, the Wave Cleaning Robot has a compatible cart for its base, electric drive, crawlers, two disposable filter bags and a highly efficient brushing system. The robot’s navigation system helps the machine to identify the shape of the swimming pool, while the user-friendly interface helps a user to adjust cycle time, operation delay and scanning pattern with absolute ease. While in operation, the crawlers enable the robot to function inside the water and subsequently scrub the corners clean with its brushing system. A suction system then flushes out the water into the filter bags. The robot can be remotely operated and is ruggedly built for safe underwater operation. A welcome break for pool owners, one must admit!
