Many of you who are working or living away from your family members often get home sick as you want to have dinner when all your family members are around. This does not make you home sick but can also become a host of physical and mental problems for your elders and such problems can also become life threatening for some people.
But not now as Accenture has come up with a unique system that they call as ‘The Virtual Family Dinner‘. This allows you and your elders to communicate with one another during dinner even if you are thousands of miles away from one another.
The concept is simple. Whenever your parents or some other elders of your family sit down on the dinner table the system detects it and informs you. The system then follows you to the kitchen where a camera and a microphone capture what all are you doing. Big speakers and screen maintains your communication with your elders.
The developers have stated that the first prototype will be available in the next two years and will cost around $500 to $1,000 per household.
This technology can be taken as derived from Video Conferencing with a PC. But Video Conferencing cannot be used by everyone as it requires detailed technical know how. However since this technology is automatic it can also be used by the disabled. The system detects when your elders are ready with their dinner, then they scan for all the members that are having similar connections and informs them by messaging them. For example if you are watching TV and your mother is ready with her dinner then the system will flash a message on your TV that your mother is waiting for your company at dinner.
You can also remain connected with your parents and elders all the time so that you and your parents don’t miss each other all the time.
