The Tritare: A guitar with three necks and Y-shaped strings

If you know Tom Whitwell, the resonance of the Triple Neck Guitar must still be knocking your brains. Today he is back with the Tritare: A guitar with three necks, but only six strings.

Sophie Leger, the brain behind this new breed of strange stringed instrument, and, surprisingly, from the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, Universite de Moncton, Canada, presented the concept in her paper on "A New Family of Stringed Musical Instruments". Hope to grab the Tritare in the near future, but for now simply experience the sounds of Tritare here.

Thanks: Tom Whitwell
