Not everyone thinks out of the box, but the ones who do, stand out in their efforts someday. This unique house above, nicknamed the Submarine house is a true case in point. Built using a grain silo, the Submarine house by Harry Neal is located in the Santa Cruz Mountains and is surrounded by koi pond, a hot tub and a studio for his bronze sculpture. To realize this out of the box idea of converting a silo into a house for himself, his wife, son and their pet donkey, Neal involved the Palo Alto architect Bill Logan in its design. Neal has fenced the area of his cute little house to ward of animals and visitors, to keep the property utterly personal for his family.
