With the bullet, came the bulletproof jackets and now to melt down the effect of stun guns the geeks have developed Thor Shield, a magical polyester fabric that hurls the electricity back to the weapon.
Thor Shield, developed by G2 Consulting in Tucson, Arizona, returns the voltage back to the gun. The stun guns like tasers give a deadly shock to the victim by directly affecting his neuromuscular system. The conductive Thor Shield dilutes the effect of the stun gun by completing the circuit with the gun’s probes without allowing the electricity to pass through an individual’s body.
Available in various thicknesses the Thor Shield fabric can even be sewn into clothes. The fabric is especially designed for military and law enforcement agencies to avert any mishaps with their own weapons.

Well, since I see this weapon as a self defense weapon good to use for private citizens, and for these purposes they should suffice.
Otherwise the use of pepper spray is effective in close encounters.
this might be interresting:
”One of the biggest misconceptions about defense spray is that the higher the percentage, the hotter and better it works. In most cases this could not be further from the truth. Most of the best, fastest incapacitating sprays in the world are from 2%-10%. The lighter the fluid, the faster is penetrates the membranes. The percentage has nothing to do with the actual SHU or ”hot” in the spray. Also, thicker sprays can inflame the skin area more and last longer with this unnecessary inflammation. A good spray will put
the attacker down and out allowing you to escape or take control of the situation.”
