There’s plenty of insider scoop in the webworld. And there was bound to be some too since Jobs wouldn’t announce anything officially at the Macworld. He’s all MacBook Air these days. Well rumor has it that MacBook Pro – Apple’s pro laptop line- is getting a last minute makeover and would soon join us. As a matter of fact, pundits put release date anywhere in the next two to three months.
So what’s been holding back the notebooks from reaching the consumers? It seems like Intel has had a part to play. There has been a shortage of Intel’s Penryn processors and as a result, MacBook Pro has not received its makeover in time.
Things delayed are not things denied however, and there’s news (again insider scoop) that MacBook pros would be equipped with the multi-touch interface that MacBook Air flaunted so recently to some ‘oohs’ and ‘aahs.’ And maybe Apple would throw in some of them SSD drives too. At what price though, only time will tell.
So what can we really hope for? Two drives and a 2.6 GHz processor seem to be a certainty and yet I wouldn’t put my money on anything till Intel delivers its processors as promised, in late February. However, I’m holding out for one of these and fingers crossed! Just in case.
