The 'Hi Future Experience' Takes You On A Tour Of Touch Interactivity

Touch interaction is inarguably the best thing to have happened in the world of technology over the past decade or so. From touchscreen mobile phones to a multi-touch interactive PC (the Microsoft Surface), the evolution of this aspect of technology has been stupefying to say the least. It offers us a unique way to relate to and interact with content. The latest from this world is an exhibition of touch interaction in its various facets. From the stables of Russ Rive and Liana Brazil’s SuperUber, the “Hi Future Experience” takes you on a treasure trail of interactive installations. Most striking of them all is certainly the Super Bureau, a look-alike of MS Surface. Designed to help visitors understand how powerful and marvelous their senses and imagination are, ‘Hi Future’ offers an eclectic blend of technological ingenuity and multimedia in its most intuitive form.

“Lines” is an intelligent sensor based installation that identifies your presence, records the information and provides an output in the form of colored lines that move along with you. “Mosaic” is a pixel-based panel of colored lights that can be erased with a simple swipe of your hand, while the “TV Tuner” offers a plasma-like experience with the diversity of radio. Multiple video channels can be tuned in to view the captured images of two security cameras positioned inside the theater. On a whole, it is a sneak peek into the future of touch technology. If you happen to be visiting Rio de Janeiro, do drop in to experience it at the Hi Case Grande.
