Guitar Hero hacks are nothing new. However, the modus operandi is what distinguishes the ’smart’ from the ‘clumsy’. For us, the Auto Guitar Hero (AGH1000) hack will certainly rank among the best for its finesse and singularity in execution. The hack system comprises four main components, viz. the Analog Processing Board, the Digital Processing Board, the Driver Board, and the Opto-Isolator Board. In this method, the guitar is linked to the Wii game’s video output and the TV/monitor video output at the same time. The video output of the former is basically NTSC composite, which in this case is a yellow RCA connector. The monitor/TV is driven this wire. Composite video generated through this method is used to create electric signals that decide when the strum buttons are to be pressed for the perfect note.
