Cerebral Palsy is directly related to physical disorders and an imbalanced walk is a curse for patients suffering with CP. Researches haven’t gone beyond treating the symptoms of the blight for they declare it as incurable. The affected patients can finally heave a sigh of relief as they can at least manage to improve their balance and walk normally using the GaitAid Virtual Walker. Developed by Computer Science Professor Yoram Baram, PhD; the Virtual Walker is a mammoth development in this field of research. Controlled using a Cellphone sized control unit and a pair of high-tech goggles capable of relaying sensory feedback of images and sounds, the walker comprehends a patient’s movement and then gives a response.

Using the Walker for 20 to 30 minutes in a day, without the requirement of any kind of special training, the patients start regaining better balance and normal walking. Often the improvement is evident from the first step. It is about restoring normal walking patterns to the brain and that is what the GaitAid Walker eventually does. 80% of the patients in clinical studies found an improvement in their stride length and walking speed after just ten minutes of walking with this aid.
