The future of mouse requires no mouse
In future you may not require a mouse for surfing and using a computer.

The idea is proposed by Manu Kumar a doctoral student from Stanford University. According to him the mouse will one day be replaced by our gaze.
The project has been titled as GUIDe, Gaze-enhanced User Interface Design, it uses eye tracking software dubbed EyePoint and a HD camera to keep track of all the eye movements.
The technology requires a user to focus on the area that they wish to interact with. This magnifies the area and a hot-key is released to initiate the click.
According to Kumar, in future there will not be a need for a click and a hot key. The user will simply focus on the desired part of the screen and the system will automatically perform the actions at the blink of an eye.
Kumar originally included a blue dot that acts as a laser to pinpoint the location that the user is focusing at, but since the eye is much faster optically then the dots on a screen so the approach made the system sluggish.
