Along with old age, a plethora of health issues arise. Chief amongst these is Dementia, which causes memory loss which in turn makes the elderly face many difficulties to even get by doing daily tasks. To help them tide over this very serious condition, Peter Sin Guili, a student at the LaSalle-SIA College of the Arts in Singapore has designed a device called the Memento Memory LifeBook. True to it’s name, this device sits in the form of a book that has plenty of functions to make life a lot easier for the elderly. A mobile phone, a GPS module, a camera, an RFID reader and a health record keeper are a few of Memento’s prominent features. The Memento can be comfortably worn around the user’s neck and it even has earphones to let it’s users take calls without using their hands. The entire contraption has a haptic touchscreen interface which will make using this device very easy. All this features make the Memento an all-in-one personal assistant that will definitely help the elderly get along with their day to day activities with nary a problem.
